I am more familiar with Waterfall methodologies, but I see that the new CAPM exam has a significant focus on Agile and Scrum. How deep do I need to go into Agile ceremonies and roles? Is just reading the Agile Practice Guide enough to pass that specific domain of the test?

The Agile framework now accounts for roughly 15% to 20% of the exam. You need to know more than just the definitions. You should understand the roles of the Scrum Master, Product Owner, and Development Team, as well as ceremonies like Sprint Planning and Retrospectives. In my experience taking the exam in late 2023, the questions were very situational—asking what an Agile leader should do when a roadblock occurs. Reading the Agile Practice Guide is essential, but I would also suggest watching some videos on Scrum methodology to see it in action.
Are you finding the Business Analysis section of the exam more difficult than the Agile portion, or is the Waterfall logic still the hardest part for you?
Don't stress too much, but do learn the terminology. Knowing the difference between a Product Backlog and a Sprint Backlog will save you several points.
Correct, Megan. Understanding the artifacts is crucial. I had at least five questions specifically about how the backlog is managed in a fast-paced environment.
Brian, for me, the Business Analysis section was actually the trickiest because it’s a newer addition to the CAPM. It covers requirements gathering and stakeholder communication in a very specific way that differs slightly from traditional PM tasks, so definitely don't sleep on that domain either!
