I am a complete beginner to cloud technology. Between AWS vs Azure, which one is more intuitive to learn first? I want to build a strong foundation that allows me to transition into a Cloud Engineer role quickly. Does one have better documentation or a more user-friendly interface?

The learning curve for AWS vs Azure is often subjective. Many find the AWS Console a bit cluttered, but its logic is very consistent across services. Azure uses a more visual "Portal" approach that feels familiar to anyone who has used Windows, but the sheer number of configuration blades can be overwhelming at first. AWS has arguably the best documentation in the industry, which is a huge help for self-learners. To learn effectively, I recommend starting with the AWS Cloud Practitioner or Azure Fundamentals. Both provide a low-stakes entry point to understand how global infrastructure, compute, and storage work before you commit to a specific career path.
Have you looked at the free tier options for both providers to see which one lets you experiment more without accidentally running up a bill?
Azure feels more like a desktop OS, while AWS feels like a collection of tools. Start with whichever one your current company is already using.
Spot on! If your company uses M365, go Azure. If they are a dev-heavy shop, AWS is usually the standard. The "environment" dictates the choice.
I haven't compared the free tiers yet, Jeffrey. I’m a bit scared of getting a surprise bill! Which one is more forgiving for a student who might forget to turn off a virtual machine after a lab session? I've heard some horror stories about cloud costs.
