I don't have the budget for an expensive bootcamp, but I want to learn ML properly. Are there any "hidden gem" courses or YouTube channels that focus on the 2026 tech stack (GenAI, MLOps, etc.)? I'm specifically looking for something that is hands-on and project-based rather than just hours of theoretical lectures.

You don't need a bootcamp to get started! I built my entire career on free resources back in 2023. Start with the "Machine Learning Zoomcamp" by DataTalks.Club—it’s completely free, cohort-based, and extremely focused on engineering. For YouTube, "Sentdex" and "Krish Naik" are essential for the Python side of things. If you want a more "academic but accessible" feel, the Kaggle Learn modules are fantastic for quick, 3-hour deep dives into specific topics like Feature Engineering or Computer Vision. The key is to spend 20% of your time watching and 80% of your time coding. Don't get stuck in "Tutorial Hell"!
Rebecca, those are amazing suggestions. Do you think "Kaggle Competitions" are a good place for a total beginner to start, or are they too intimidating for someone who hasn't even finished their first Python course yet?
Check out "FreeCodeCamp." They have a 10-hour Machine Learning with Python course that is incredibly comprehensive and starts from the absolute basics.
Sane advice, Cheryl. FreeCodeCamp is a goldmine. Jordan, if you combine that with Rebecca's list, you have everything you need for a six-figure career without spending a dime.
Nathan, the competitions can be scary, but the "Titanic" and "House Prices" getting-started competitions are perfect. Don't worry about the leaderboard; just read the "Notebooks" section. Seeing how experts clean their data and structure their models is like having a free mentor. Just copying a notebook and changing one variable to see what happens is a valid way to learn when you're starting out!
