I’ve been working in AWS for years, but with the sudden explosion of Generative AI and LLM integrations, I feel like a beginner again. Do you feel that continuous learning now mandatory to survive in Cloud Technology, or is this just another hype cycle we can eventually ignore?

Cloud technology has always been about rapid iteration, but the current AI wave has accelerated that 10x. I firmly believe continuous learning now mandatory because the infrastructure is no longer just about storage and compute; it’s about building the pipelines that fuel intelligent systems. If you aren't learning about Bedrock, SageMaker, or Azure OpenAI services, you’ll find yourself managing legacy systems while the high-paying roles move toward AI-integrated architecture. It’s a steep curve, but the cloud providers are making the tools more accessible than ever if you put in the time.
Beyond just the technical skills, how are you finding the time to vet which of these new AI cloud services are actually worth the effort to learn?
Ignore it at your own peril. The cloud landscape in 2026 will look nothing like 2023, and those who didn't keep up will be left behind.
Well said, Gloria. The "hype" is actually the new baseline. Being a specialist in one area isn't enough anymore; you have to be a fast learner above all else.
Larry, that’s the hardest part! I usually look at what the "Big Three" are pushing in their keynotes. If AWS and Azure are both releasing similar services, it’s a clear sign that continuous learning now mandatory for that specific tech. I try to spend 30 minutes every morning reading architectural blogs just to filter the signal from the noise before I commit to a full certification.
