I am planning to take my PMI-RMP exam next month. I’ve heard there are more questions now on agile risk management and environment-specific risks. Does anyone have recommendations for updated study materials or simulators that reflect the most recent changes in the exam content outline?

The new ECO definitely leans more into Agile and Hybrid environments. You need to understand how risk is managed in Sprints—think daily stand-ups and risk adjusted backlogs. I highly recommend the "Standard for Risk Management in Portfolios, Programs, and Projects" by PMI. For simulators, look for ones that include "hotspot" questions and multiple-response items. Don't just focus on the math; about 70% of the exam now feels like situational leadership questions where you have to choose the 'best' next step for a risk manager in a specific crisis.
Are there still a lot of formulas to memorize for the new version, or has it shifted almost entirely to the qualitative and behavioral side of risk?
Focus heavily on the 'Monitor Risks' process. A lot of candidates fail because they focus on planning but forget how to track and audit risks during execution.
Patricia is right. The exam tests the entire lifecycle. I found that creating my own 'Risk Management Plan' template helped me visualize the flow much better.
Ryan, you still need to know your formulas! PERT, EMV, and basic probability are still there. However, you're right that the 'behavioral' aspect is huge now. You'll get questions about risk appetite vs. risk threshold and how to facilitate a risk workshop with difficult stakeholders. It's less about being a human calculator and more about being a strategic advisor who understands the underlying data.
