The question

I manage a financial blog, which falls under the Your Money Your Life (YMYL) category. With the recent algorithm updates, I’m worried about my authority signals. How can I better showcase Experience, Expertise, Authoritativeness, and Trustworthiness on my article pages to satisfy Google’s reviewers?

For YMYL sites, the "Experience" part of E-E-A-T is now more important than ever. You should include detailed author personas that highlight real-world credentials. For a finance blog, this means linking to the author's LinkedIn, mentioning certifications like CFP, and providing a clear "About Us" page that outlines your editorial process. Adding a "Fact Checked By" line with a link to a qualified reviewer’s profile can also significantly boost trust. In 2023, we saw many niche sites lose traffic because they used generic "Admin" accounts instead of real, verifiable experts.

Does simply adding a bio really work, or does Google look for external citations and mentions of the author on other high-authority industry websites to verify them?

Robert, Google uses something called the "Knowledge Graph" to connect the dots. If your author is mentioned on Forbes or has a verified social media presence, Google’s bots can associate that external authority with your site. It’s not just about what you say on your own page; it’s about the author’s digital footprint across the web. This is why guest posting on reputable industry sites is still a vital part of a modern SEO strategy.

Trust is also about technical security. Ensure your HTTPS is valid and your contact information is easy to find, as these are basic transparency signals.

Exactly, Linda. A site that hides its physical address or ownership details will almost always struggle to rank for competitive YMYL keywords.
