I see many "Entry Level" jobs asking for 3 years of experience. If I get my AWS certification and have a background in SQL/Excel, is it realistic to expect a high-paying remote role in America immediately? Or is Python mandatory for remote cloud work?

It is realistic, but you need to build a portfolio. Don't just get the AWS cert; use the free tier to build a website or a serverless application. Show that you can use SQL within an RDS instance. In the US, remote roles are competitive, but cloud engineers are so in demand that many companies will overlook a lack of "years" if you can demonstrate hands-on "skill" during the technical screening.
Do you think focusing on AWS security certifications would help bypass the experience requirement for remote roles?
Remote work is more about trust. A solid AWS certification from a reputable provider gives US employers the confidence to hire you remotely.
Exactly, it's about validating your expertise. I found my current remote role just two months after passing the exam.
Security is a great niche, Edward! If you have AWS Security specialty, you are moving into a domain where the US talent gap is even wider, which helps a lot.
