We are moving from Waterfall to Agile, but the team is resisting the change. They feel like the constant meetings in Scrum are a waste of time and prefer the old way of working. How can I help them see the value of the Agile mindset and ensure the transition is smooth without losing productivity?

Transitioning is more about culture than tools. Start by explaining the "why" behind every ceremony. For example, show them how the Retrospective empowers them to fix their own problems rather than waiting for management. Avoid a "Big Bang" approach; instead, introduce one Scrum event at a time. It is vital to have an experienced Agile Coach who can model the behavior. When the team sees that Agile leads to fewer "emergency" late-night fixes because of early testing and feedback, their resistance will naturally start to fade away as they see the personal benefit.
Are you currently using any specific metrics to show the team how their lead time or quality has changed since you started the transition?
Focus on the Scrum Values like Courage and Respect. If the team feels safe to fail and learn, they will embrace the iterative nature of Agile much faster.
Exactly, Linda. Psychological safety is the foundation of any successful Agile transformation. Without it, the rituals just become empty checkboxes.
Kevin, we haven't started tracking specific metrics yet because we didn't want to overwhelm them. However, I believe showing a Burndown chart or a Cumulative Flow Diagram could visually demonstrate where work is getting stuck. Visualizing the workflow often helps the team realize that the "meetings" they dislike are actually preventing the long, painful status meetings they used to have in Waterfall.
