I am evaluating RPA vendors for our accounting department. We need to handle high-security financial data and complex Excel reconciliations. Between UiPath, Blue Prism, and Automation Anywhere, which platform offers the best security features and ease of use for non-technical finance users?

For finance workflows, Blue Prism is often cited for its "Security First" architecture. It was built with heavy regulation in mind, providing an immutable audit trail which is vital for SOX compliance. However, UiPath has significantly closed the gap and offers a much better user experience for "Citizen Developers" in the finance team. UiPath’s Excel activities are incredibly robust and handle large data sets better than Blue Prism’s object-based approach. If your users are non-technical, UiPath’s StudioX is specifically designed for them. Automation Anywhere is great for web-based apps, but UiPath is the leader for Excel.
Have you looked into the total cost of ownership (TCO) for each? Beyond the initial license, the infrastructure requirements for Blue Prism can be quite different from the cloud-native options in Automation Anywhere.

We are still in the early stages of the TCO analysis. Robert, does Automation Anywhere’s A360 cloud version actually save on maintenance costs, or do the hidden costs of cloud data egress and storage balance it out? We are trying to keep our operational budget as lean as possible.
