The passing score for the Administrator exam is 65%. For the Platform App Builder exam, it is 68%, reflecting its higher complexity and deeper focus on declarative limits and solution architecture.
How many questions are on the exams and what is the time limit? ▾
Both exams consist of 60 multiple-choice questions. You have 105 minutes (1 hour and 45 minutes) to complete each exam. Simulators help build time-management skills to finish confidently.
Can I take the exams online or do I need to go to a testing center? ▾
You can take the exams at a Kryterion testing center (in major Boise, ID) or via online proctored exam. Testing centers are recommended for stability, as online proctoring has strict environmental requirements.
Do I have to pass the Admin exam before I can take the App Builder exam? ▾
No official prerequisite exists, but the App Builder exam assumes full mastery of Admin concepts (security, data model). Passing the Admin exam first is strongly advised.
How long are the Salesforce certifications valid? ▾

Does the exam test my ability to write Apex Code? ▾
No. Both exams focus entirely on declarative development. You will be tested on when to use Flow, Process Builder, Workflow Rules, and when custom solutions require code?but not on writing code itself.
How quickly can I schedule my exam after the training is complete? ▾
You can schedule your exam immediately via the Webassessor platform. We recommend taking the Admin exam one week after training and the App Builder exam two weeks after to maintain momentum.
What is the difference in focus between the two exams? ▾
The Admin (ADM 201) exam focuses on configuration: Security, User Management, Data Management, and basic process automation. The App Builder exam focuses on customization: Designing custom apps, complex Flow, advanced data modeling, and deployment.
