The question

As an SEO and content person, I’m seeing AI change how we rank. For a specialist, what are the top skills to focus on right now? Is it more about technical SEO, or should we be pivoting toward AI-driven consumer behavior analysis and automated ad management?

The biggest shift is moving away from "volume" and toward "intent." Since AI can generate infinite content, search engines are cracking down on generic fluff. The winning skill now is technical SEO combined with "Information Gain"—adding something unique that an LLM couldn't have synthesized from existing data. Additionally, learning to use AI for predictive analytics—identifying which segments are likely to churn before they actually do—is a high-value skill that sets elite marketers apart from those who are just using AI to write faster blog posts.

Do you think the role of the traditional copywriter is completely dead, or is there a "human-in-the-loop" requirement?

GE 19-11-2025

It’s not dead, Kelly, but it has evolved into "Content Editing and Fact-Checking." The human is needed to ensure the brand voice remains consistent and that the AI hasn't hallucinated fake facts about the product, which could lead to massive legal or reputational issues.

Understanding data privacy and the ethics of AI targeting is becoming a huge requirement as new regulations come into play across different regions.

Absolutely, Walter. Privacy-first marketing is the next big wave, and being the person who knows how to navigate that while still using AI is a massive career advantage.
