    Eligibility and Pre-requisites

    To apply for the PfMP® certification, candidates must satisfy one of PMI’s eligibility pathways based on their educational background and portfolio management experience. The certification is intended for experienced professionals who have demonstrated expertise in managing portfolios aligned with organizational strategy.

    Eligibility Criteria:
    Pathway 1 – Secondary Education: Hold a secondary school diploma, high school diploma, or global equivalent, possess at least 96 months of professional business experience within the last 15 years, and have a minimum of 84 months of portfolio management experience within the same period.
    Pathway 2 – Bachelor’s Degree or Higher: Hold a bachelor's degree or equivalent higher qualification, possess at least 96 months of professional business experience within the last 15 years, and have a minimum of 48 months of portfolio management experience within the same period.
    Pathway 3 – GAC-Accredited Degree Program: Hold a bachelor's degree or higher from a GAC-accredited program, possess at least 96 months of professional business experience within the last 15 years, and have a minimum of 36 months of portfolio management experience within the same period.
