Between Austin, Dallas, and Houston, which city currently provides the best balance of a high salary and a manageable cost of living for a senior data professional?

Houston is actually the hidden gem for data analysts right now. While Austin gets all the "tech" hype and has seen a massive spike in housing costs, Houston’s energy sector is desperate for data talent to help with the green energy transition. You can easily find roles paying $115,000 for seniors with much lower rent than Austin. Dallas is also great for those in defense and telecommunications, but for pure disposable income, Houston currently wins the race in my opinion. It's a very diverse market with tons of opportunities.
Does the Houston market require specific knowledge of IoT or sensor data compared to the more generalist business intelligence roles found in Dallas?
