The question

I am a recent graduate looking to break into the cloud industry. With AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud Platform all being so prominent, I am confused about which one offers the best job prospects for a beginner. Should I focus on the market leader or a fast-growing niche like GCP?

Choosing your first platform depends on your goals. AWS is the undisputed market leader with the largest share, meaning more job openings globally. However, if you are interested in enterprise environments, Microsoft Azure is a powerhouse because of its deep integration with Windows and Office 365. Google Cloud is fantastic if you want to pivot into Data Science or AI/ML later. I’d recommend starting with the AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner to get the basics down before diving into a specific associate-level path. It’s about the fundamentals first.

That is a great starting point, but have you considered the local job market in your specific region? Sometimes certain cities are heavily dominated by one provider over the others.

Brian makes a valid point. In tech hubs like Seattle, AWS is king, but in the Midwest, many corporate headquarters rely on Azure for their hybrid cloud needs. Check LinkedIn job postings in your area to see which certification is mentioned most frequently in "Junior Cloud Engineer" descriptions. This will give you a data-driven answer to your question.

AWS has the most extensive documentation and community support, which is a lifesaver when you are stuck on a configuration error.

I agree with Karen. Having a large community means you can find a solution on Stack Overflow in seconds, which is crucial for a beginner's confidence.
