My current process requires reading a spreadsheet, checking a database, and then making a decision based on three different variables. Is RPA capable of this level of 'if-then' logic, or does it become too messy? I don't want to end up with a giant, unreadable flow-chart of nested conditions. Any tips on keeping the logic clean?
RPA platforms handle complex conditional logic through modular design patterns, such as invoking workflows or utilizing external decision tables, which prevents the creation of unmaintainable nested flow-charts.

RPA is perfectly capable of handling complex conditional logic, but it is rarely the right place to store that business intelligence. If you are building giant nested flow-charts, you have already failed the design phase by coupling your automation logic too tightly with your decision logic.
