I’m looking to pivot into a new career and keep seeing the Google Data Analytics Certificate. Given the current job market, is this Google Data Analytics Certificate actually respected by American employers, or is it just another basic course that doesn't hold much weight without a degree? I want to know if it helps in landing a junior analyst role.

From my experience hiring for mid-sized firms in Chicago, the certificate is a fantastic foundational step, but it isn't a golden ticket. It demonstrates that you have the discipline to complete a professional curriculum and understand the "Ask, Prepare, Process, Analyze, Share, and Act" framework. Most US recruiters look for how you apply these skills. If you take the Google Data Analytics Certificate and use it to build a unique portfolio in SQL and Tableau, it absolutely adds value. However, don't expect the paper itself to replace the need for networking or a solid technical interview performance.
That is a fair assessment, Kimberly, but do you think the shift from R to Python in the newer versions of the curriculum makes it more competitive against traditional university bootcamps? I've noticed many job descriptions specifically ask for Python now.
