Is CAPM enough for a Junior PM role?

The question

I have seen some posts saying that even for junior roles, people expect a PMP now. Is the industry inflating? Will the CAPM be ignored in a pile of resumes that have the PMP? I want to manage my expectations for the job market.

Verified summary

The CAPM serves as a legitimate entry-level signal for those ineligible for the PMP, provided it is complemented by clear evidence of transferable professional skills.

I'm sorry, Ben, but I’m still a bit confused about the first part. Is this really the standard way to handle it? I just want to make sure I’m not missing something obvious.

Ben, did I interpret that correctly? I keep overthinking the details and worry I might have applied the logic wrong. Do you think this approach is safe for beginners like me?

Ben, your silence on the current implementation is telling. Have you considered how this framework holds up under real-world scrutiny? I’d like to see some actual data backing these assertions.
