I've been putting so much effort into my Reels and carousels, but the organic reach just keeps dropping. Is the algorithm now strictly "pay-to-play" for business accounts? I want to know if there's any way to boost visibility naturally in 2024 without having to constantly put a budget behind every single post I make.

The reality is that Meta platforms have shifted their algorithms to prioritize "meaningful social interactions" between friends and family, which naturally pushes brand content down. To fight this organically, you need to focus on "shareable" and "saveable" content. Posts that provide educational value or evoke strong emotions tend to trigger the algorithm to show your content to non-followers. Also, engaging with your audience in the comments within the first hour of posting is a massive signal to the platform that your content is worth promoting.
Since the organic algorithm is so restrictive now, do you think it's even worth focusing on organic growth anymore, or should businesses just shift 100% of their resources into highly targeted paid ad campaigns?
Use trending audio and focus on vertical video. The algorithms for Reels and TikTok are still much more generous toward organic discovery than traditional static image posts.
Great point, Jessica. Video content is the only way I've seen non-followers find my page lately without me spending a dime on boosting
Definitely don't go 100% paid, Michael. If a user clicks your ad and lands on a profile that hasn't posted organically in weeks, they lose trust immediately. Organic content serves as your "social proof" and brand personality. A healthy balance is usually 70% organic for community building and 30% paid for lead generation. Think of organic as the foundation and paid as the accelerator for your best-performing content.
