What exactly is the PRINCE2 Practitioner pass mark? ▾

The PRINCE2 Practitioner pass mark is 55%, meaning you must correctly answer 38 questions out of 68.1 Do not mistake the low percentage for an easy exam; the questions demand complex application and critical analysis of a given scenario, which is significantly harder than simple recall.

Is the PRINCE2 Practitioner exam open book? ▾

Yes, it is open book, but with strict restrictions. You are only permitted to use the official Managing Successful Projects with PRINCE2 manual. No personal notes, photocopies, or supplementary materials are allowed. Our training focuses heavily on tabbing, indexing, and highlighting your manual to weaponize it for rapid reference during the exam.2

What are the PRINCE2 Practitioner prerequisites I need to know about? ▾

You cannot enroll directly. You must hold a valid certification from one of the following: PRINCE2 Foundation, PMP, CAPM, or IPMA (Level A-D).3 Without verifiable proof of one of these, PeopleCert will block your exam attempt.

How long is the PRINCE2 Practitioner Certification valid? ▾

The certification is valid for three years.4 To maintain "Active" status, you must follow the PRINCE2 Practitioner renewal process, which involves either retaking the exam before expiration or maintaining a continuous MyAxelos subscription and logging Continuous Professional Development (CPD) points.5

Is PRINCE2 better than PMP? ▾

This comparison is useless. They serve different purposes. PMP focuses on the Project Manager's personal skills and knowledge area management. PRINCE2 focuses on the process and structured framework (governance) to run the project.6 In Europe and specific sectors globally (UK/India government, IT service management), PRINCE2 is often the mandated governance standard.7 Having both makes you demonstrably versatile.

Does this course cover the PRINCE2 Practitioner Exam fee? ▾

Exam fees are generally separate and payable to the examination institute, PeopleCert. However, we do offer specific bundles that include the exam fee. You must check the specific package details, as PeopleCert prices are standardized globally and often listed in USD or GBP.

Can I take a PRINCE2 Practitioner only course? ▾

Yes. If you already hold the Foundation or one of the required prerequisite certifications (like PMP), you can and should enroll in our dedicated Practitioner module. This training skips the basic recall content and focuses solely on the advanced application, scenario analysis, and exam strategy required to pass.

What is the format of the PRINCE2 Practitioner exam? ▾

It is a 2.5-hour objective testing exam consisting of 68 scenario-based questions. The questions are delivered within a context of a detailed project scenario booklet . You must analyze the situation provided and apply the PRINCE2 method correctly.

Is PRINCE2 applicable to Agile projects? ▾

Absolutely. PRINCE2 is a project management governance layer that is fully compatible with Agile delivery. The standard Practitioner training teaches you "tailoring," which is the critical skill of adapting the governance to wrap around an agile team, ensuring control without stifling flexibility. There is even a dedicated PRINCE2 Agile certification.8

Where can I take the exam in India? ▾

You have two options: Online Proctoring via PeopleCert's system from your home/office, or at an authorized Pearson VUE testing center in major metropolitan areas in Lompoc, CA. We strongly recommend testing centers to eliminate environmental variables like internet connectivity issues.

How hard is the PRINCE2 Practitioner exam compared to Foundation? ▾

It is significantly harder and a completely different test of competence. Foundation tests recall (e.g., "What is a risk?"). Practitioner tests application (e.g., "Given this specific risk that has now occurred, did the Project Manager correctly follow the necessary steps in the Managing Exception process?").

Do I get the official manual with the course? ▾

Yes. Most of our PRINCE2 Registered Practitioner packages include the digital (eBook) version of the official Managing Successful Projects with PRINCE2 manual. This manual is the only resource permitted during your open-book exam.

What happens if I fail the exam? ▾

If you fail, you are required to pay the full fee to retake it, which is an unnecessary waste of resources. This is why enrolling in a package that includes the Take2 option (exam insurance) is highly recommended, as it allows for a free retake if your first attempt is unsuccessful.

Why is the "Tailoring" section so important? ▾

Tailoring is the most crucial skill tested. The exam focuses heavily on your judgment: you will be asked if a specific application of a Principle, Theme, or Process was appropriate for the complexity, environment, and scale of the project in the scenario. Failure to understand tailoring means you will fail the PRINCE2 Practitioner Exam.

Is this certification recognized in the US? ▾

Yes. While PMP holds market dominance in the US, PRINCE2 is a recognized global standard.9 It is frequently required or preferred in international organizations, UN agencies, and multinational corporations, particularly those with strong European business ties.10 It demonstrates global project governance literacy.

Is this a PRINCE2 Practitioner only course or does it include Foundation? ▾

We cater to both. If you are already certified at the Foundation level, enroll directly in the Practitioner-only module. If you are new to PRINCE2, you must take our Combined Foundation & Practitioner bootcamp to meet the mandatory prerequisite requirements.1 Don't waste time on content you don't need.

Do you use the official Axelos PRINCE2 materials? ▾

Absolutely. We are an Accredited Training Organization (ATO). Using any unauthorized materials is a direct path to failure and invalidates your certification. We use only officially licensed, current Axelos content to ensure full exam compliance.

How many hours of study are required? ▾

The Practitioner course mandates about 14?16 hours of instructor-led training. We advise you immediately follow this with an additional 10?15 hours of mandatory self-study and exam simulation to be genuinely prepared for the application-based exam. Anything less is gambling.

Can I attend the training in Bangalore or is it only online? ▾

We offer limited classroom training in major Indian tech hubs, including Bangalore, Hyderabad, and Pune, typically upon corporate or group request. However, our live online instructor-led sessions are the most flexible and popular choice for serious working professionals globally.

What if I miss a live session? ▾

All sessions are automatically recorded. You can watch the replay immediately. If you require the live interaction, you can jump into a corresponding session of a future batch to complete the required contact hours. Missing live content is your responsibility, but we provide the safety net.

Is the manual provided in hard copy or digital? ▾

PeopleCert has standardized the process to digital eBooks. You will receive an official digital copy. Crucially, you can annotate this digital copy directly within the exam software during your test, eliminating the need for physical tabbing.

Do you help with the exam booking process? ▾

Yes. We handle the logistics so you don't have to. We purchase the exam voucher for you and provide clear, step-by-step guidance through the PeopleCert registration and scheduling process. We administer the complexity.

How experienced are the instructors? ▾

Our instructors are not just trainers; they are active, high-level project consultants. They hold the PRINCE2 Registered Practitioner status and possess years of demonstrable experience managing large, complex, real-world projects, ensuring the context is practical, not just academic.

What languages is the training available in? ▾

The training and the exam are conducted exclusively in English. Mastery of the Axelos PRINCE2 standard requires a strong command of professional English, as the subtle linguistic nuances in the scenario-based exam questions are critical for differentiating correct answers.

Can I customize the schedule? ▾

For corporate groups, yes, we can tailor the timing and content delivery. For individual enrollment, you must select from our existing weekend or weekday evening batches designed to minimize disruption to your professional commitments.
