This is a critical two-stage process. The initial application is an online form where you document your experience to meet the quantitative hour requirements. Once PMI accepts this submission, your application moves to the rigorous panel review. Here, a group of certified PgMP volunteers anonymously evaluates your detailed, written experience summaries. They assess the quality, complexity, and strategic nature of your program management work against the PgMP performance domains. Passing the panel review is a major hurdle, and our training provides highly specific guidance on structuring and writing these summaries for maximum success.

How do I document my program management experience? ▾

You must write detailed summaries for every program you list, clearly describing your specific role and actions across the five PgMP performance domains. You need to articulate how you managed program strategy, business benefits, stakeholders, governance, and the complete program life cycle. Vague or project-focused descriptions will be rejected by the panel. Our program includes a full specialized module dedicated to mastering this documentation process.

How much does the PgMP exam cost? ▾

The fee is uniformly set by PMI in US Dollars and remains consistent globally:

Non-Member: $1000 USD

What is the format and duration of the PgMP exam? ▾

The PgMP exam is a 4-hour (240-minute) computer-based test consisting of 170 multiple-choice questions. Many questions are lengthy and situational, requiring strategic judgment and real-world experience rather than simple memorization.

What is the passing score for the PgMP exam? ▾

PMI does not disclose an exact passing percentage. The exam uses a psychometric scoring approach, rating your performance across domains as "Above Target," "Target," "Below Target," or "Needs Improvement." To pass, you generally need to score "Target" or "Above Target" across all domains. Our simulators are engineered to help you consistently perform within this range.

Can I take the PgMP exam online from home? ▾

Yes. The exam is administered by Pearson VUE and can be taken either at a physical test center or online via the OnVUE platform. If choosing the online option, you must have a private room, a stable webcam, and—most importantly—an extremely stable internet connection with power backup (such as a UPS). Many candidates still prefer a physical test center for a fully controlled environment.

Where are the PgMP test centers located? ▾

Pearson VUE has major test centers in most metropolitan regions as well as many secondary economic hubs. You can easily locate nearby centers through the official Pearson VUE website during scheduling.

What happens if I fail the PgMP exam? ▾

You have a one-year eligibility period after application approval, during which you may attempt the exam up to three times. Each reattempt requires payment of a re-examination fee. If you do not pass on your first attempt, we provide a detailed performance analysis, a new customized study plan, and extended access to essential resources at no additional cost.

How long is the PgMP certification valid, and how do I maintain it? ▾

The PgMP certification remains valid for three years. To maintain it, you must earn 60 Professional Development Units (PDUs) within the three-year cycle and pay a renewal fee.
